Birthday: Philanthropist Doles Out over 2.5 Million Naira to 50 Widows in Ekiti

Over 50 vulnerable widows across Ekiti State have been empowered by a philanthropist, Isaac Ajisafe as part of his efforts at lifting the less privileged out of the shackles of poverty and renew their hope for a better life.

The over fifty widows who received 50, 000 naira each and food stuff were the second batch of beneficiaries of the Isaac Ajisafe Foundation which core mission is centered on assisting the needy.

The empowerment programme was part of the philantropist’s annual birthday package.

At the ceremony held in Ado Ekiti, Ajisafe noted that the money was to enable the beneficiaries to be able to make ends meet by starting small businesses that could bring food on the table for them and their children.

“Our dad died when i was still very young about 30 years ago, living our mother and five children. so things were tough that even to eat became difficult”.

“My mother had to borrow to pay for our waec fees and after the exam, i worked to be able to pay back the debt. I made up my mind and prayed to god that if he help me and lift me up, i will help widows and orphans who might be going through what we went through that time” Ajisafe said.

While calling on other well meaning individuals to cultivate the habit of remembering the down troden with their wealth, Ajisafe noted that it was not until people become billionaire before they could help the needy.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others including Oluwabukola Abereifa and Odunola Olowolafe appreciated Isaac Ajisafe for the assistance and prayed god to continue to uplift him.

Addressing participants during a mind shift conference titled SOAR organized for people who wish to develop their potentials, guest speakers including pastor Oluwabusiwa Busayo and Scott Odigie stressed the need for people to be intentional in their pursuit for growth.

At the thanksgiving service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Beulah Assembly, Aayemi Garage Area, Ado Ekiti, the guest pastor, Kehinde Agbanigo who spoke on “Grace to Soar” warned people against laziness and dependence on others to survive.

The Isaac Ajisafe Foundation had earlier visited three orphanage homes in Ado Ekiti where food and other items were donated to take care of the special children.
