A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bimbo Daramola, has described the ongoing renovation works at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium as unprecedented.
Daramola made this statement after visiting the premier sports facility in the state, expressing delight at the positive turnaround of the stadium to international standards.
He lauded the governor’s commitment to restoring the glory of the famous sports facility, noting that the massive transformation would serve as a springboard for producing great sportsmen and women in the state.
According to him, “The sight today is way better than what I saw months ago, and it’s clear that the governor has exemplified and deployed 3Ds, leading to this massive transformation of the once seemingly forgotten and derelict premier sports facility in Ekiti.”
During the visit, the former lawmaker donated sporting kits to some indigent youngsters as part of efforts to complement the governor’s quest for athlete development. “I was touched when I saw many of these kids playing soccer, not only at that hour but many of them were barefooted or wearing slippers.
“It was heartbreaking to see a bunch of young kids exemplifying these key qualities that are conditions for success in any human endeavor.
“I couldn’t help but ask that boots and socks be made available to them immediately as a way to encourage them and identify with Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to sports development in Ekiti State.”
Daramola appealed to APC members to consider the great developments Governor Oyebanji has brought to all sectors in the state and support his second-term ambition.
