BEJIDE MEETS ILAWE WOMEN CHIEFS, SEEKS GRASSROOTS SUPPORT AHEAD OF JUNE 20 ELECTION

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ambassador Dare Bejide, has continued his grassroots mobilization with a visit to a cross-section of Ilawe women chiefs, Obirin Ilẹ́ Ilawe, where he urged women across the community to actively campaign for his victory ahead of the June 20, 2026 off-cycle governorship election.

Addressing the gathering, Bejide called on the women to mobilize support across streets, wards, and polling units, stressing that the election is beyond party politics but a collective struggle for fairness, equality, and the political inclusion of the South.

He reiterated his commitment to politics without division, noting that Ilawe people must unite to support one of their own and ensure the South attains a sense of belonging in the state’s leadership.

“This is beyond political differences. All hands must be on deck and all voices must be loud in support of ADC and our collective ambition,” he said.

Ambassador Bejide also promised that his administration would facilitate the return of banks to Ilawe within a short time and create employment opportunities for qualified youths across the state.

Welcoming the ADC candidate and his campaign train, the Yeye Olofi of Ilawe reaffirmed the total support of the women chiefs for Bejide’s ambition, assuring him that women across the community would campaign vigorously and defend their votes during the election.

She urged all women of Ilawe to see the project as a collective duty and work tirelessly for the success of Ambassador Dare Bejide and the ADC at the polls.
