Game lovers in Ekiti have showered encomium of Governor Biodun Oyebanji over the creation of Game Centres across the state.
According to the people, the initiative is quite thoughtful as it will promote good health and long life among players and spectators.
The BAO Games Center was inaugurated in Ado and Ikere Ekiti by Director General Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Oso Omotoso where she emphasized the significance heritage and it’s role in Fostering a sense of togetherness and mutual respect among the people in the grassroots.
She said that the BAO Games center serve as feedback channel from the people in the grassroots, opportunity for people to gather ,interact and share experiences, thereby strengthening communal bonds in the locality.
The DG explained that Governor Oyebanji support for the games reflects his broader commitment to grassroots development and commitment engagement adding that Oyebanji highlights his recognition of the power of culture and tradition in promoting social unity and well being of his people ,also enhances social harmony and collective purpose in the grassroots.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti, during the opening of one of the centres, Chief Sola Olarenwaju ,the Ejemua of Ado Ekiti expressed gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for counting them worthy in bringing such center to three different locations in Ado Ekiti, stressing that the BAO Games center enhance their work because most people who came to play games are Okada riders that brought about daily contributions which has assisted them and also promote unity among them.
In his remark,the Chairman Ikere West LCDA, Hon,Rufus Ige who spoke on behalf of his colleague appreciated Governor Oyebanji for his efforts in changing the narrative of governance in the state through the infrastructural development embark on across the state, he said that BAO Games center would bring joy, peace, long life and said some scientists have proven that laughing could extend the longevity of people’s lives on earth.
Earlier, the Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has shown a strong love for traditional games that bring about the initiative of BAO Games center across the sixteen local government and Communities noting that these games are not only sources of entertainment but also tools for building social cohesion and unity within communities.
