…says bail payment without receipt is fraud

The Nigeria Police Force has called on Nigerians to desist from paying for bail, adding that Nigerians should demand for receipt in avoidable cases.
The Public Relations officer of the Force, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said this today on his X account @Princemoye1.
According to him, bail is free, and any bail payment without receipt is fraud. In his words, “Police administrative bail is free. If anyone demands bail money, you too demand an invoice or receipt to prove payment. If he can’t issue it, don’t pay. That is a fraud. I have said this severally.”

The PR officer said, “Pay for bail at your peril. But don’t come and complain here because you have been warned and given the logic to use. We have educated Nigerians on the right thing to do; you canvass for illegality.
