

The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Comrade Sola Adigun, has been honoured with the Christ’s School 82/87 Old Boys’ Association Humanity and Service Award at the 2025 end-of-the-year awards ceremony of the association.
The event, which took place yesterday at the G-Boss Hotel, Bank Road, Ado-Ekiti, attracted members of the 1982–1987 set of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, other alumni of the institution, and invited guests from across the country.
According to a statement by the organising committee, the programme featured a three-in-one activity, including the launching and unveiling of the Christ’s School 82/87 Set Old Boys’ Association Hall of Fame, the induction and inauguration of the 01CS-87-OBA Hall of Fame, as well as the presentation of awards in two categories, capped with a family-friendly end-of-year get-together.
Comrade Adigun was among 12 members of the 82/87 set recognised with the Humanity and Service Awards for their outstanding contributions to society and commitment to service. Other awardees in the category included Prof. Folarin Oguntoyinbo, Engr. Omotayo John, High Chief Dapo Akinwumi, High Chief Adetunji Albert Obayemi, High Chief Adeyinka Dada, High Chief Ayeni Omotayo, Mr. Oluwafemi Patrick Ojo, Mr. Joseph Adeleye, Mr. Tope-Bentop Adeboboye, Mr. Opeyemi Obafemi, and Dr. Bola Balogun.

The association also presented the Distinguished Leadership Awards to notable old boys from other alumni sets of the school.
The recipients were Alhaji Ayodeji Lateef Ajibola of the South West Development Commission; Dr. Alex Ademola Bankole, Chairman/Managing Director, Mr. Femi Awogbami; Mr. Jide Akinyede; and Late Dr. Adebola Adeparusi Charles Arewa, who was honoured posthumously.
The organising committee noted that the awards were not merely for recognition but a celebration of good character, selfless service, leadership, and humanity.
“The awardees, through their various endeavours, have demonstrated what it means to live for others, uplift communities, and make positive impact wherever life has placed them,” the statement said.
The ceremony further reinforced the enduring bond among old boys of Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, and their collective commitment to service, leadership, and giving back to society.
