The party, which was attended by members of the chapter across the state, was held in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

Speaking with Journalists, the Chairman of APWEN, Ekiti State Chapter, Engr Dr Helen Owoyemi emphasized on the mission of the association, which is “to be catalyst for advancement of women in the engineering profession towards national and global technological development.”

Apart from being a drive for young women to become Engineers, she said it’s also to “promote the engineering profession as a positive force in enhancing the quality of life.”

In her lecture titled: “Woman: A Prudent Manager in this economy”, the guest speaker, Faluyi Bamidele Ibitayo described women as a ‘multi-task entity’ whose contributions to the sustainable growth of men can not be overemphasized.

She said they are the resting shoulders of men, hence the need for their male counterpart to support and not take their efforts for granted.

The state chairman also extended her heartfelt gratitude to Ministry of works, Ekiti State and members of the staff for their support, adding that their contribution to the association has been instrumental.

The highpoint of the event was the decoration of Felicia Nnenna Agunbata as Matron and Engr Ademola Agoro as Patron of the association for their unwavering support and contribution in their respective domains.
