ARIBASOYE ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS, RESTATES EKITI ASSEMBLY’S COMMITMENT TO CONSTITUENCY’S DEVELOPMENT

…gives cash, food items, gifts

The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye says the 7th Assembly under his leadership has resolved that members would regularly engage and appraise their constituencies to make development universal across the state.

Aribasoye stated this at an extended engagement he had with stakeholders within his base, Ikole Constituency II over the weekend.

The stakeholders’ engagement drew attendees from all the wards in the constituency including ward chairmen, executive, party elders and political office holders while the spokesperson of the House of Representatives, who also hails from the constituency, Hon. Akin Rotimi graced the event.

The Speaker maximised the avenue to highlight series of efforts made by him to consistently protect the interest of the constituency noting that many roads within the area have already been included in the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAAMP which would soon be executed.

The speaker also shed light on the Special Agriculture Processing Zone status of the area which he said has been attracting investors.

According to him, the largest Cassava Processing plant in Africa, undertaken by Agbeyewa farms ltd, is underway within the constituency raising hope of job creation, food security and economic growth.

He added that the local content bill which is in progress at the Ekiti State House of Assembly would ensure substantial engagement and patronage of artisans, raw material providers, skilled and unskilled labour at the grassroots level in the state.

The occasion was also an avenue to fulfil the promise of new uniforms and sandals made by Aribasoye to indigent students across schools in the constituency when he discovered, during a recent tour of schools, that many of them walk bare foot while others wear tattered uniforms to school.

The stakeholders’ engagement was a scorecard booster for Rt. Hon. Aribasoye as party leaders including Chief Alaba Abejide, Otunba Oladele Adeniyi, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae and Chief Ranti Adebisi among others described him as an epitome of revolution, reformation and performance which shows a deviation from the status quo.

A member of the House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Bidemi Ipinlaye and SA Special Agriculture Processing Zone in Ekiti State, Pastor Kehinde Ajayi among other politicians applauded the leadership proficiency of the speaker.

Food vendors equally presented him a special portrait in appreciation of his excellent representation and performance.

The speaker handed out a million naira to cater for relevant logistics for the stakeholders in attendance while a sum of nine hundred thousand naira went to the wards in the constituency for operational support.

He also personally distributed across wards foodstuff packs worth 3.5 million naira in addition to a package of about a million naira shared among 450 aged persons selected across the wards in the constituency.

Various groups in the private sector who thronged venue of the engagement were handed cash gifts as gesture for the festive season.

Meanwhile, stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ikole Constituency Two have passed a vote of confidence on the Speaker, describing his performance as outstanding and satisfactory.

They also passed a vote of confidence on the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji as an applaudable superintendent over the various developments being witness in the constituency and the state at large.

The Speaker concluded the event with a tour of Oke Ayedun, Esun, and Odo Ayedun in the consistency, distributing food items and cash gifts to thousands of residents.
