The Ise-Ekiti Development Council, IDC, has hailed Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for setting up a committee on political appointment, describing the step as democratic.
In a statement released by the Chairman of IDC in Ise-Ekiti, Elder Tunji Falana, the council noted that Governor Oyebanji has endeared himself into the hearts of Ekiti people.
The statement reads: “By laying down a guide line and objective criteria for the appointment of a political office holders, Governor Oyebanji has shown that he wants the best and ready to change the narrative.
“We in IDC see it as a welcome development and first of its kind in the political evolution in Ekiti State. It is also a paradigm shift from the past and when fully implemented, may put an end to politics of innuendos, character assassinations, pull him down syndrome, lack of respect for traditional rulers and developmental institutions.
“The corollary is equally true.Mr Governor’s style of inclusiveness, and open door policy will give room for the participation of high quality and patriotic individuals who are ready to participate in the political development of the state.
“When Mr. Governor in September last year in a Town Hall Meeeting at Ode-Ekiti, promised to run an inclusive government, we thought it was one of those fables,an impossibility, reminiscent of typical some leaders.
“Ise Development Council, the apex body in the land, hereby commends the political will of the Governor, for constituting into a committee, tested and mature individuals to execute this laudable objective of his administration.”
