ANA EKITI CONGRATULATES OYEBANJI, EKITI PEOPLE ON SECOND TERM INAUGURATION

The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Ekiti State Chapter, has congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his inauguration for a second term in office and the people of Ekiti State on the 30th anniversary of the state’s creation.

The association described the twin celebrations as a testament to the resilience, unity, shared heritage and collective aspirations of the people of Ekiti State.
In a congratulatory statement jointly signed by its State Chairman, Dr Olugbenga Daramola, and State Secretary, Olasunkanmi Adesiyan, ANA Ekiti said the 30-year journey of the statehood had reinforced the people’s commitment to their cultural values, identity and sustainable development.
The association commended Governor Oyebanji for his inclusive leadership and the implementation of his Shared Prosperity agenda, expressing confidence that his second term would consolidate the achievements of his first administration and promote further development across the state.
It added that the governor’s re-election reflected the confidence of the electorate in his leadership and expressed hope that the next four years would bring increased opportunities, peace and prosperity to the people.
However, against the backdrop of the prevailing economic challenges in the country, ANA Ekiti urged governments at all levels to adopt innovative and sustainable measures to cushion the effects of rising petroleum prices on Nigerians.
The association recommended increased investment in alternative energy sources, including Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and solar power, to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and help lower transportation costs.
It also called for greater support for mass transit systems through affordable public transportation services, as well as the expansion of social safety nets and food security programmes to protect vulnerable citizens from the rising cost of goods and services.
ANA Ekiti maintained that a people-centred approach and innovative policies would enable governments to turn current economic challenges into opportunities for sustainable development.
The association also congratulated the First Lady of Ekiti State, Professor Olayemi Oyebanji, on her elevation to the rank of professor by the University of Ibadan, describing the achievement as worthy of celebration.
It wished Governor Oyebanji a successful second term and prayed that the next chapter of Ekiti State’s development would be characterised by peace, progress and shared prosperity.
