The Alumni Association of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has donated electronic gadgets worth over #15 million to fast-track the processing of transcripts to the graduates of the university. The gadgets included ten (10) computer sets with UPS, printers, scanning machine and photocopier.
At a brief ceremony, the Alumni Global President, Engr. Dipo Bamisaye, reiterated the determination of the Alumni Association under his leadership to continue to give back to its alma mater. He further explained that the procurement of the materials for the University was a fulfilment of part of the promises he made while contesting for the position of EKSU Alumni President.
Also at the event, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Association, Dr. Olawale Jegede stated that the association has been looking for ways of complementing the various efforts put in place by the university management to ensure quick processing and release of academic transcripts.
He opined that the provision of the materials had provided a good opportunity for the association to support the institution in order to prevent the embarrassment occasioned by the delay in the processing of transcripts in recent times.
Dr. Fasua, the Chairman of the Eminent Persons Group who handed over the materials to the university Vice Chancellor described the gesture as a tip of the iceberg considering what the association still has in stock to support the university.
While receiving the donation, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Edward Olanipekun expressed his appreciation to the Alumni Association for the gesture and promised that the materials would be utilized judiciously.
He also charged the end users to ensure their proper maintenance.
