Over thirty ISWAP terrorist members were killed in the Operation Hadarin Kai (OPHK) airstrike on the terrorists’ hideouts in Kolleram hamlet, which is located near Lake Chad.

According to a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, AVM Edward Gabkwet, in Abuja the airstrikes carried out on April 13 were deemed a significant blow against terrorism in the Northeast.

According to him, the operation was highly successful because around thirty terrorists were neutralised, according to the battle damage assessment carried out after the strike.

Gabkwet also affirmed that several of the militants’ top commanders, including Mallam Ari, Bakura Fallujah, and Ali Dawud, were among those neutralised.

Furthermore, a great deal of automobiles, motorbikes, and logistical equipment were destroyed, which significantly limited the terrorists’ ability to conduct operations.

“Further information obtained during the airstrike suggested that the aircraft bombardment successfully destroyed a vital building in the Kolleram enclave, which functioned as a centre for the terrorists’ food production operations, including the use of grinding equipment.

“Through the elimination of important terrorist leaders and the destruction of their supply chain, the operation has severely damaged the ISWAP group’s capacity in the area.”

“These airstrikes represent a crucial step forward in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria and complement the ongoing efforts of ground forces in the Lake Chad flank,” he declared.
