Agric Workers Congratulate Gov Oyebanji, Seek Employment of More Professionals, Approval of Hazard Allowance

The Nigeria Union of Agriculture and Allied Employees, NUAAE, Ekiti State chapter, has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his re-election describing the victory as a vote of confidence in his administration.

In a statement jointly signed by the Ekiti State Chairman, Comrade Obadoye Solomon Olawale, and the National Vice President, South-West, Comrade Ojo Ayodeji Francis, the union commended the governor’s commitment to food security, construction of roads that lead to farmstead, support for farmers and rural development.
The union urged Governor Oyebanji to approve the employment of more agricultural professionals in the state’s civil service and approve hazard allowance to farm extension workers and other frontline agricultural staff.

He said the requests, if implemented would strengthen the agricultural workforce and improve service delivery to farmers across Ekiti.
NUAAE Commended governor Oyebanji for various impactful programmes in agriculture, including the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAMP, Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project, LPRES, Bring Back Youths to Agriculture in partnership with YSJ, as well as distribution of seedlings and farm inputs to farmers.
The union noted that these interventions had boosted productivity, created jobs for youths, and improved rural infrastructure under Oyebanji’s first term.
The leadership assured the governor of the union’s continued support and pledged to partner with government to train more youths in modern farming techniques and expand access to inputs for smallholder farmers.

They expressed confidence that Oyebanji’s second term would position Ekiti as a leading agricultural hub in the South-West, especially with the state’s focus on value-chain development and agribusiness.
