AGGRIEVED YOUTHS BURN POLICE STATION, ATTACK BANKS OVER FUEL, NAIRA SCARCITY

Some aggrieved youths in Ibadan, Oyo State have set Agodi police post on fire while some commercial banks were attacked.

The youths were protesting the current scarcity of naira notes and fuel in the country.

Though some bank officials appealed to the protesters and gave them some undisclosed amount of money, the youths continued to vent their anger unabated.

The police and army officers that were strategically positioned to prevent breakdown of law and order allegedly fled from the scene.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer Adéwálé Oshifeso said he would brief the media after authenticating the information.

At as the time of this report, the youths have marched to the state secretariat.

Report also have it that a police officer have also been wounded by the youths.
