The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has urged corps members in Ekiti State to embrace skills acquisition programmes and engage in other ventures that will positively impact their lives.
They made this disclosure at the opening ceremony of the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED, programme for 2022 Batch C Stream 2 Orientation Exercise, on Monday, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ise-Orun/Emure, Ekiti State.
The Ekiti State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Mary Nenna Chikezie, who represented the Director, SAED Department NYSC NDHQ, charged them to gain valuable skills which will empower them to challenge unemployment, socio-economic downturn towards attaining financial independence.
Highlighting the importance of SAED Hands-on-Skill Training, Mrs Chikezie enjoined corps members to cultivate the culture of entrepreneurship and income, build capacity to see opportunities to create wealth, gather information on funding opportunities and be economically active.
She outlined the available SAED Training Skills including Agro-Allied, Food Processing and Preservation, Culture and Tourism, Cosmetology, Beautification, Power and Energy among others.
