ABOUT TWO HUNDREDS SDP, PDP MEMBERS DEFECT TO APC IN IFAKI EKITI

…as Senator Adetunmbi promises them equal opportunity

Over two hundred PDP and SDP members who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ifaki-Ekiti before the last general elections have been officially welcomed to the party.

During a ceremony held at the palace square in Ifaki to welcome the defectors, the Senator representing Ekiti North Senatorial District, Bunmi Adetunbi explained that APC had been losing the town to opposition parties during previous elections, hence the reason to mobilise the people to join the party.

Senator Adetunbi who spoke through a former Chairman of Ido/Osi local government, Prince Tunde Aladegbami said the ceremony was to appreciate the defectors for their support during the last general election which helped the party to be victorious and to officially welcome them to the fold.

Welcoming the defectors, APC Chairman in the state, Mr. Paul Omotoso gave assurance that they would be treated equally with the existing members of the party.

Mr. Omotoso urged them to continue to support the party, while commending Senator Adetunbi and other party leaders for their efforts to develop APC.

Speaking on behalf of other defectors, Mr. Akin Falana said they decided to join APC in view of the performances of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, promising to obey the rules and regulations of the party.
