The Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission Chairman, Chief Samuel Adewumi Abejide, has regretted the passing of Ekiti State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Paul Ayodele Omotoso, saying the sudden demise of the lawyer is a big blow to the progressives political family in the state.
He described Omotoso’s loss as “unbelievable, devastating and a setback to the progressives political family in the state”.
A statement personally signed by the Local Government Service Commission boss described Omotoso as a dedicated, focused, unassuming and loyal party member with great organizing abilities and maturity to resolving complex issues without any iota of bias.
Highlighting some of the qualities of the late party chief, Abejide said: “The late party chairman worked tirelessly to promote the party’s ideals and cohesion, which led the APC to win the gubernatorial and local government elections in Ekiti State back to back for the first time in the history of Ekiti State politics.
“The passion and commitment of the deceased to the All Progressives Congress was inspiring and towered above his peers in terms of character, diligence, industry and native intelligence in handling his duties throughout his life-time. He combined these qualities with his passion to always consult the leadership of the party widely for quality advice to ensure party cohesion.”
The Commission Chairman stressed that the vacuum created by the death of the APC chairman would be difficult to fill and urged party members not to despair at this moment of grief, but to unite and sustain the legacies he left behind.
Abejide expressed his deepest condolences to those the deceased left behind and prayed God to grant the repose of his soul while also praying that God grants the family, party faithful and friends the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
