…demands 10bn for damage

The Descendants of Isale Eko, Lagos State has filed a court suit against the producers of Lagos Gang Movie with an alleged claim of slander and misrepresentation.
According to reports, the Lagos High Court sitting in Tafawa Balewa Square has granted the Union of Isale Eko Descendants right to seek order concerning the alleged misrepresentation.
In regards to this, the Lagos State Video and Film Censors Board has imposed a N10 billion fine against the Gangs of Lagos producers for damages claim of misrepresenting the territory and for depicting it as an inhabitant for criminals.
More so, the court has allowed the Descendants to apply for judicial review and also directed the Attorney General of Lagos State and Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board to sanction the film producers in line with the Lagos State Cinematograph Law.
