…as NUJ Chair Expresses Desire to Embrace Innovation

In a bid to foster technological advancements and innovation in Ekiti State, the Technology Education and Design, TEDX, Ado-Ekiti has conveyed its intention to partner the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in the state for global outreach.
This was conveyed today during a meeting with TEDX Crew and the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela at the Union Secretariat, Ado -Ekiti.
According to the TEDX License and Organizer Officer, Abraham Issac, the purpose for conceptualizing the innovation especially in Ekiti is to show case the local intellectual heritage of the people of the State which would be adequately met through the partnership.
He said, “We came today to meet with NUJ Ekiti to interface with them, to intimate them about TEDX, Ado-Ekiti. We came to explain what we are trying to do about global platform that the TEDX Platform is fostering.
“We are bringing it to Ekiti now to show case our local and intellectual heritage. We are really excited to be partnering with NUJ as it would enable us generate high reach of our target audience for the upcoming event.”
Reacting to this, the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ojomoyela expressed his support to the proficiency of innovation in relations to the Youth as well as its possibility of reducing the rate of unemployment in the Country.
He said, “I think things should not be done in the traditional way, I believe in innovative ideas. Technology is wide and capable of capturing alot of things and I believe the future centers on technology.
“This innovation will definitely assist the government in reducing unemployment rate especially amongst the Youth, as such we are ready to partner with you as we are not allergic to change.”
Moreso, speaking on the measures taken to propagate this innovation, the License Officer revealed that TEDX would be reaching out to the people of Ekiti State through the technology and innovative programme slated for June 24th to hold in Ado-Ekiti.
