Emure, Ise/Orun-Ikere Joint Security Committee Urges Govt to Prioritize Welfare of security agents, Demands More Outposts

The Joint Security Committee for Emure, Ise-Orun and Ikere Local Government Areas of Ekiti State held its meeting to curtail the nefarious activities of criminals in the area.

The security committee with membership drawn from various security agencies is tasked with the responsibility to patrol boundary communities and ensure the security of lives and property.

In a communique issued at the end of its meeting in Ikere-Ekiti, jointly signed by the Chairman and General Secretary, Elder Tunji Falana and Okunniga Niyi Azzuri respectively, tasked government to prioritise the welfare of security agents.

They went further to demand the creation of more security outposts in all the villages and the procurement of motorbikes for local security coverages.

“Contacting the relevant authority by creating more Security Outposts in all the villages along Ikere-Ise-Emure Road. Procurement of motorbikes and repairs of abadoned vans for local security coverages.

“Profiling of criminal elements and continuity in bush combing which has reduced the rate of kidnapping in the axis. Registration of Okada Riders to identify infiltrators.

“Soliciting for more financial back up through Stakeholders support by donating to the Security Trust Fund (STF) for effective service delivery.

“Priotizing of Security Welfarism by the Government. Improved synergy amongst Security Agencies and joint patrols. Intelligence and information gathering through the locals.

“Appeals to the public to give relevant information to the Security Agencies (If you see something, say something) for quick responses to issues.”
