Following an alleged leak audio of the 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, soliciting for voters’ outreach from the General Overseer Living Faith, Bishop David Oyedepo, the Bishop has openly declared that he did not campaign for any political party.
The audio which erupted the internet yesterday, after an online newspaper, People’s Gazette revealed the party presidential candidate allegedly pleading with the Bishop to secure him high vote in the South-West,asserting that the election was a religious war.
According to the audio,he said, “Daddy I need you to speak to your people in the South-West and Kwara, the Christians in the South-West and Kwara.This is a religious war. Like I keep saying, if this works, you people will never regret the support.”
Countering this, Bishop Oyedepo openly declared his neutrality over any political party, stating that, he never campaigned for any party as he only dished out advise.
He declared, “Nobody had ever told me what to say in this world.No I have never campaigned for anybody or speak on anybody’s behalf and I will not do that till I go to heaven.
There is no (political) party in this country that didn’t come to me for prayers and for advice.”
