The Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti state, Mrs Fatima Bello has encouraged female journalists not to discard the profession on account of marriage

She mentioned this on Tuesday during an interactive session with Roundoffnews while giving her notion on the perceptions of most female journalists, regarding the possibility of managing their homes along side the profession.

In her words, “the first thing in every profession is passion and interest. If you lack this basic tenets, it would affect your drive because the interest is not there.

“No man should limit you to the bearings of your bedroom or home, except he is ready to pay as much as you would earn in the profession. Even at home, there are lots of businesses you can do as a house wife.” She said.

More so, talking on the negative perceptions that has labeled most female journalists as “promiscuous”, she alterated the stance, positing that, women journalists are decent.

She further advised all female and intending female journalists to grace themselves with creative ideas as it would keep them relevant in the profession.
