NIGERIANS SUFFERING FROM CONSEQUENCES OF BAD LEADERS – Ven. Ojo

By: Bayo Famoroti

Ven. Victor Ojo, the Vicar of St Paul’s Anglican church Odo Ado, Ado Ekiti has said that the hardship Nigerians are passing through presently is due to lack of love and mercy on the part of the leaders.

He made the assertion in a sermon he delivered during a service marking the 100 days in office of Chief Bosun Osaloni, as the Chairman of Ado Ekiti Local Government, pointing out that some leaders don’t have mercy and that is why they are treating people the way they like.

The cleric stressed that there is no love in this country and that is why we are suffering, adding: “What you have achieved in life is by grace. You will die and you will not go with anyone”.

According to him, we must also forgive and forget those who offended you, pointing out that by doing that we are showing mercy.

He urged the Council Chairman to put love first to his people . he quoted John 13:34 which states:” A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another”.

“At this period we must show love, mercy and peace, let us not fail to remember those who are needed by reaching out to them..

“ At this point we must allow God to guide and choose for us, a man who will love and show mercy to every Nigerian. Acts of kindness can make the world a happier place for everyone. They can boost feelings of confidence, being in control, happiness and optimism. They may also encourage others to repeat the good deeds they have experienced themselves, contributing to a more positive community”.

In his reaction, Hon. Bosun Osaloni, thanked Ewi of Ado Ekiti Oba Rufus Adejuyigbe, and all Ado council workers for coming to his 100days in office thanksgiving. He said his family has finally returned to St Paul’s church and that Ewi has settled all issues that made them not to be coming to the church.

On the forthcoming election, Osaloni asked for people’s support for his party. He also said Agric market has been commissioned for use and after the election the Hausas will be selling their tomatoes there.
