WORLD HIJAB DAY : We Wear Hijab To Honor Allah – Rahmotallahi

The World HIJAB day is an annual event founded by Nazma Khan in 2013, it takes place on the 1st of February each year in 140 countries word wide. It is also a day to urge women of various origin and beliefs to try on the Hijab.

ROUNDOFFNEWS gathered that, the purpose is to encourage women of all religion and background to wear and experience what it is like to wear the HIJAB for a day and to educate and spread awareness on why hijab is worn.

According to the women affairs secretary, Lagos secretariat community central mosque, Rahmotallahi Lawal- Ajayi, muslim women use hijah in obedience to Allah.

Rahmotallahi who revealed that wearing Hijab is obeying Allah’s commandment quoted, “Qu’ran 34 :31, where Allah told the prophet that he should tell his wives, daughters and the believing women that they should adorn the outer covering, so that they will be recognised and not to molested.”

She added that, “if you look into another portion of the Qu’ran, Qu’ran (7 :26), he has given mankind clothing so as to cover them as an Ornament and then, they may have the best clothing which is the clothing of righteousness.”

She also spoke on the struggles of wearing Hijab, noting that the struggle is real and it still continues.

However, they are hoping on Allah and they know, as abiding citizens of the country, they have to go through the right and lawful way.

Rahmotallahi also commended the Lagos state government for upholding the right of a Muslim girl to use Hijah in Schools and Organisations.
