PYDEF… empowerment towards greatness.
No fewer than 50 widows, 50 farmers, 50 Market women and 50 Artisans from Orin Ekiti in Ido Osi local government Area of Ekiti State have been empowered with various working tools, including cash donations, worth hundreds of thousands of Naira.
A philanthropist, Dr Ayodeji Ayodele Dada under the umbrella of the Positive Youth Dreamers Empowerment Foundation, PYDEF said that the mission of the Non Govermental Organization was to Support the less privileged in the Society towards realizing their dreams.
The U.S based philanthropist who stated that widows are one of the vulnerable groups of people in the Society called for continued support for them to enable them to meet up with their challenges.
“As a village boy, who faced so many challenges while growing up. I saw the need to come to the aid of the widows to enable them to live a meaningful life and also enable them to assist their immediate families.
“I know what life means for a widow and her children, going by the prevailing economic situation in the country.
Also the Orin Ekiti born philanthropist explained that the roles of farmers in the society could not be overemphasized, hence the need to empower them especially as the planting season is fast approaching.
He enjoined the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the tools to improve their lives.
“I believe with the little farms implement we have given to the selected farmers, they will definitely have better and bountiful harvest, if they put the help into good use, he noted.
Dr Dada while also extending the gesture to Artisans and Market women in the town noted that it behooves on all especially those that God has lifted up to support the downtrodden and less privileged people to also live a meaningful and purposeful life.
He promised to continue to put smiles to the faces of the less privileged in the society through the various deliverables of the Foundation.
Dr Dada said that together with the help of some of his friends in Nigeria, the foundation would not relent on their Oasis and continue to prosecute various life changing programmes that would have far reaching positive impact on the people.
Earlier, an associate of the philanthropist, Mr Samson Falajiki, who is also the Country Supervisor of PYDEF lauded Dr Dada for his kind gesture, noting that the empowerment programme had touched so many lives in the town.
According to him, Ekiti State and Nigeria at large need people like Dr Dada to reduce poverty among the citizenry.
Also speaking during the various Empowerment Programmes, an indigene of the town, Mr Dimeji Owolade described the initiator of the Positive Youth Dreamers Empowerment Foundation as a good testimony of good things happening to Orin Ekiti Community.
It was joy all the way for the aged, Artisans, Farmers and Market women in the town as they were full of praises to the Donor
They prayed to God to elevate him to greater heights, while urging other wealthy indigenes of the town to emulate Dr Ayodeji Ayodele Dada.
