The governorship candidate of the Action People’s Party, APP, in the 2022 Ekiti State election and founder, Prince Adeyinka Alli Foundation, PAAF, Prince Adeyinka Alli, has trained youths in Ekiti in various skills.

No fewer than 100 youths graduated from the foundation in collaboration with the Ekiti Metropolitan College of Management and Technology, at its maiden graduation ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, on Monday.

The beneficiaries were trained in graphics design, photography, effect make-up, cinematography, acting and scriptwriting, sound recording, film editing, journalism and broadcasting, film directing etc.

Speaking with newsmen, Prince Alli said he was spurred by his passion to make positive impacts aimed at empowering the youths to be employers of labour.

His words: “They have undergone studies in skills acquisition, studies that can launch them into the world. They would not necessarily be on the street looking for jobs again. They are empowered and in couple of months to come, they will definitely be employers of labour.

“This is my passion and what I love to do. This is what I have long been doing even before politics. These are the things that motivated me to dabble into politics. I know a lot of things we can do with all these techs that will bring a very rich state. I derive joy in doing it and it’s not politically motivated.

“Where there is a will, you don’t have to offer fortune to get this done. Been an entrepreneur and with this that am doing, we know that sustainability is easy. We will go about doing it. We won’t wait until we have billions to get this done. What we are doing with the little resources we have is to get the people employed.”

In the same vein, the Owatapa of Itapa-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area, HRM Oba (Dr) David Makanjuola Ajaja, urged the graduates to utilise the skills they acquired by being good ambassadors of the foundation.

Oba Ajaja said: “My assessment of this programme is nothing but great and fantastic. It is an epoc making event because it is very historical in Itapa-Ekiti because it is happening for the first time.

“They must not forget their source. They must take away from here into the world, the rudiments of education which they have been given while they were here. I’m charging them to be worthy ambassadors of this school and not deviate from the philosophy of the institution.”

Beneficiaries of the programme all pledged to invest in what they were taught. Akiniyi Abiodun said: “I must thank the school management and Prince Adeyinka Alli foundation for raising this scholarship for us. It has been a very good opportunity. I have gained a lot and hoping for more to come.”

“With this opportunity we have been to gain from this foundation, I’m planning to go out there and invest as I have been invested on. I am promising the foundation that I will do what am expected of.” Oyebi Omolade said.
