All is now set for the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally in Ekiti State, with preparations at the venue reaching an advanced stage ahead of the event.
A visit by our correspondent to the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, venue of the rally, revealed that virtually all necessary arrangements had been put in place.
The pavilion has been given a colourful facelift, with posters, banners and decorative drapes adorning the venue, while security personnel were seen at strategic locations within and around the premises.
Speaking with journalists at the venue, the Secretary of the Directorate of Organising, Professor Tunji John Asaolu, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness.
According to him, the people of Ekiti State have demonstrated their readiness to give the campaign team a warm reception.
“We have moved around, and we have been here for the past two days. What we have seen so far is impressive. The people of Ekiti State are in high spirits and ready to receive the campaign team.
“I am very happy with what we have seen, and we want to commend the Governor of Ekiti State for providing a conducive atmosphere and ensuring that there are no hitches ahead of the programme,” he said.
On security arrangements, Professor Asaolu confirmed that security agencies had deployed personnel to strategic locations within and outside the venue to ensure the safety of lives and property.
Speaking further, he described the level of enthusiasm among residents as impressive, expressing confidence that Ekiti State would once again demonstrate its support for the APC and its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He recalled the state’s performance during the 2023 presidential election, noting that Ekiti was among the states that delivered strong electoral support for the APC and the first to submit their votes.
He expressed optimism that the people would repeat the gesture during the forthcoming political engagement.
Professor Asaolu urged residents and party supporters to turn out in large numbers for the rally, saying their presence would demonstrate their continued support for the APC.
