SWEARING-IN: Ekiti Community Health Workers Greet Oyebanji

…calls for employment of CHEWs, CHOs, payment of full CONHESS

The National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria Ekiti State Chapter has  felicitated the new Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on the occasion of his swearing in ceremony.

This is contained in a statement by the state Chairman of the association, Com. Olatunbosun Tope which was signed by the secretary, Com. Makanjuola Cornelius

In the statement, the Chairman described the emergence of Mr. Oyebanji as divine with the hope that he would use his wealth of experience to fast track growth and development of the state.

While wishing the new Governor a successful tenure, Comrade Olatunbosun promised the support of the entire Community Health Practitioners in the state   for his administration.

He called on the new Governor to ensure  employment of Community Health Practitioners into the Primary Health Care System of Ekiti State so as to improve access to quality health care particularly at the grassroots.

Olatunbosun also charged the Governor to look into the existing poor remuneration of the primary health care service providers in the state.

According to him, the difference in the wages of his colleagues and those at the secondary/tertiary levels was huge describing such as injustice  against the Community Health Workers whom he described as drivers of Primary health care in the state.
