The kidnapped victims of Eda Oniyo EKiti have arrived EkSUTH for medical attention.
Earlier, Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the release of 14 worshippers abducted during an attack on a Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, crusade in Eda Oniyo-Ekiti, Ilejemeje Local Government Area.
The victims regained their freedom around midnight on Friday and are currently being taken to hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
One of the 15 kidnapped victims died while in captivity, sources confirmed.
The surviving victims are said to be in critical physical and emotional condition.
It will be recalled that panic gripped Eda Oniyo-Ekiti on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, when suspected gunmen invaded an open-air crusade organised by the Christ Apostolic Church. The officiating pastor was killed during the attack, while 15 worshippers were abducted and taken to an unknown location.
When contacted, a top police officer in Ekiti State confirmed the release of the victims but did not provide further details.
