The Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, Ekiti State Council has congratulated Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his victory at the June 20, 2026 governorship election, attributing the win to visible development witnessed in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Comrade Temitope Popoola, and the Secretary, Comrade Azeez Agbaje, the union commended the “development witnessed under the leadership of the governor and improved welfare of pensioners” during his first term.
They prayed God to give the governor the wisdom, Knowledge and understanding to record more success and consolidate on the gains of his first term
The pensioners’ body noted that retirees in Ekiti now enjoy prompt payment of monthly pensions and gradual liquidation of inherited gratuity backlogs but affirmed that much more still needed to be done.
The pensioners promised to continue to support the administration of the Governor.
