Ewi Urges Muslims to Pray for Nigeria Amid Insecurity

Ado-Ekiti – The Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III, has urged the Muslim Ummah to pray fervently for Nigeria as the country grapples with insecurity.

In a goodwill message to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, the monarch said all hands must be on deck to tackle kidnappings and killings across the country.

He noted that the situation had instilled fear in many citizens, even during festive periods, leaving people anxious about the unknown.

Oba Adejugbe said governments at all levels, traditional rulers, and religious leaders must urgently work together to end the current insurgency and make Nigeria safe and liveable again.

Congratulating Muslims on the celebration, the Ewi described Islam as a religion of peace, love, and sacrifice, in line with the virtues of Prophet Muhammad.

He explained that Eid-el-Kabir commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah, and urged Nigerians to embrace the same spirit by showing love, living peacefully with one another, and caring for the downtrodden.

The monarch prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the sacrifices and good deeds of Muslims and bring an end to the activities of criminal groups in the country.
