EKITI MAY EXPIRIENCE PETROL SCARCITY…DEALERS CRY OUT

…as motorists lament over state of roads in Ekiti

Petroleum products may not be available in Ekiti State, if government refuse to repair the roads that  link the state with others.

The Chairman, Petroleum Dealers Association, Ekiti  State Chapter, Evangelist Olu Olobele  stated this while inspecting the poor state of road that link Ekiti with neighboring states.

Mr Olobele explained that truck conveying petroleum products are now stuck on the road due to the deplorable state adding such development may deny petrol stations access to product that could be dispensed to customers.

He siad: ” When our vehicles are unable to get here , I wonder what we will dispense to customers.

” This is indeed a sorry situation,  there is no even alternative routes for us, Ekiti is cut off and this is affecting the economy.

I’m afraid, we will have to witness shortage in supply and this is why I am appealing to our Governor to do something within this short time remaining.

Also, speaking, the Deputy Chairman of the association, Mrs Modupe Akinola   called on the Federal Ministry of Works and FERMA to find lasting solution to terrible state of roads in Ekiti, saying virtually all the roads that link the state were no more motorable.

On his own, the  Chairman Board of Trustee of Petroleum Dealers Association, Ekiti State, Alhaji Suleiman Akinbami  said some of their trucks  fell between  Ado Akure  road while petroleum products worth millions of naira wasted.

Some of the trucks drivers  plying the road said they  have spent days trying to maneuver the dangerous spost and appealed to concern authorities to repair the roads on time.

Our correspondent who visited the place reports that some youths of Ita Ogbolu are also taking advantage of the bad road to extort motorists.
