The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, has visited JAMB Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the state and tasked officers deployed to maintain professionalism throughout the exercise.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, April 16, 2026, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday, the deployment follows the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, that state commands provide adequate security for candidates and JAMB officials during the nationwide UTME.
The statement said the Ekiti Command has deployed adequate security personnel from Area Commands, Police Mobile Force, Divisional Headquarters, Tactical and Intelligence Units to all approved JAMB centres in the state to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
During his tour of inspection on Wednesday, CP Falade instructed operatives to maintain surveillance and security throughout the period of the examination. He warned officers against all forms of unprofessional and corrupt practices, directing them to abide by the rules of engagement while handling cases of disorderliness, malpractice, security breaches, and other complaints with professionalism, legality, fairness, and respect for everyone’s rights.
The Commissioner of Police implored parents to warn their wards, especially candidates, to be law-abiding and shun all acts inimical to the success and smooth running of the examination. He wished all candidates success and urged citizens to support and cooperate with the Police during and after the exercise.
Members of the public were encouraged to be vigilant and report any suspicious person, group, or activity to the nearest Police Station or call 08062335577.
