Legal Practitioner Gbemisola Omotosho Advocates Improved Investment in women

A legal practitioner, Gbemisola Omotosho has advocated an improved investment in women across the country, particularly Ekiti State through empowerment, skill acquisition and social welfare schemes.

Speaking with newsmen on the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, Omotosho who is the Director General of the Center for Protection of People with Disability, said there is the need for government to come up with more policies and programmes that would give women better political representation, protect them against discrimination and violence.

Omotosho who is also a business consultant with notable experience in corporate and commercial law said no amount of investment in women is a waste.

She however challenged women to always show courage, resilience and capacity anytime they have opportunity to serve so as to change public perception about the women folk.

She said:”Throughout history, women have demonstrated extraordinary strength in the face of social, economic, political, cultural challenges. They have consistently advocated for and achieved significant milestones in the pursuit of equality and inclusion.

“Today , we celebrate the strength , resilience, the power and progress of women across the globe. We honor the remarkable achievements of women who have used their influence , voices , stories , determination to create meaningful change in the world.

With the theme: “Give to Gain can be through supporting , mentorship , guidance , advocating for gender equality, amplifying women’s voices on issues affecting women, empowerment Initiatives, skills acquisition and training programs for women’s.

“We have many women in this categories who have in one or the other ways mentored young ladies and women toward helping to shape the next generation of leaders.

“Empowerment of women is another way to GIVE TO GAIN . Through different empower schemes, providing skill acquisition and training programs for unemployed youths who happen to be young ladies or unemployed women and as those exploring entrepreneurial ventures , equip them with practical knowledge and opportunities to improve their livelihood.
