Members of the All Progressives Congress in Araromi LCDA have unanimously selected Mr Bayo Akinyele as Chairmanship and Chief Adeola Fakorede as Vice Chairmanship candidates in the forthcoming Local Government election in Ekiti State.
The candidates were elected through consensus by members of the party in ward A, B and C comprises Ilomu, Iropora, Eyio, Esure and Iyin Ekiti all in Irepodun Ifelodun Local Government.
Confirming the consensus arrangement during a programme held in Iyin Ekiti, the Wards Chairmen in the Council area, Oniloro of Eyio Ekiti, Chief Emmanuel Abogunleye, Chief Gbadebo Ojo and Mr Moses Akinsanya noted that all the leaders and party members agreed to present Mr Akinyele and Chief Fakorede as Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates of the party due to the integrity and their contributions to development of the community.
Also, the SSA to the Governor on Labour matters, Mr Kayode Fatomiluyi and Current Chairman of Araromi LCDA, Chief Adewale Alade commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji and leadership of the party for coming up with consensus arrangement, saying the process gives room for peace and is less cumbersome.
They called on members of the party and residents of the LCDA to come out in their large number to vote for Governor Biodun Oyebanji during the June 20th governorship election coming up in the State.
Addressing the people, the APC Chairmanship candidate in Araromi LCDA, Mr Bayo Akinyele, a retired local government staff, thanked Governor Oyebanji for the opportunity and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by the party, if he eventually emerges Chairman of the council area.
