Oyebanji Honours Ekiti NUJ Chairman as Daramola Presents Valentine Gift

His excellency Biodun Oyebanji honoured the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ekiti State, Mr Kayode Babatuyi, with a Valentine gift presented on his behalf by former House of Representatives member Bimbo Daramola.

Presenting the gift, Daramola said the governor approved the gesture to recognise Babatuyi’s professionalism, dedication, and consistent commitment to ethical journalism in the state. He explained that the presentation was an expression of love and appreciation for the NUJ chairman’s service to the media profession and Ekiti State.

Daramola noted that Babatuyi has continued to promote responsible journalism, unity among journalists, and balanced reporting, describing him as a leader who understands the importance of the press in democratic governance and public enlightenment.

He added that Governor Oyebanji holds journalists in high esteem and values their role in promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance. According to him, the honour reflects the governor’s respect for media practitioners who carry out their duties with integrity.

He added that honouring media professionals who uphold ethical standards helps to deepen democracy and inspire younger journalists to remain committed to integrity, service, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
