‎Ekiti State College Of Technology Ijero-Ekiti Matriculate New Students

….as Rector Olubamise Urges Students To Take Advantage Of NELFUND

‎The Rector of Ekiti State College of Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, Dr. Olufemi Olubamise has urged  students of the institution to key into the Nigeria Education Loan Fund, NELFUND.

‎Dr. Olubamise stated this during the matriculation ceremony for students admitted for the 2025/2026 academic session held at the Polytechnic campus, Ijero-Ekiti.

‎He told the Students that keying into NELFUND would reduce financial burden on them and their parents.

‎The Rector also informed the students that there is NHIA service for the benefit of students.

‎”I enjoin you to subscribe fully to the National Health Insurance Scheme, as well as the NELFUND initiative considering their numerous advantages”.

‎He said the institution has the needed human and material resources to make its students rank among the best in the world.



‎The Rector noted that upon graduation, students of the institution would be awarded three certificates covering academic, skill acquisition and ICT.

‎Dr. Olubamise stated that all the courses being run in the school are accredited by relevant authorities.

‎”Let me establish here, that the College of Technology Ijero-Ekiti is not just another Polytechnic but a foremost Institution that has produced a long line of distinguished middle-level health professionals, teachers, administrators, political leaders and the clergy. Our status now is very rare. We now have an institution that combines medical professionals , Management and Engineering”

‎He charged the students to be serious with their studies and not to engage in activities that can lead to their expulsion.

‎”My dear students, securing admission to this Polytechnic is no mean feat. You are the fortunate few among the many applicants. Therefore, I urge you to see your admission as a great opportunity that must be fully utilized. Keep your eyes on the goal, which is to graduate with excellent results”.

‎He appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for approving the upgrade of the institution to a polytechnic which he said had improved the status of the school.

‎”Sir, your commitment to education development is highly commendable. Our Institution has enjoyed your goodwill and benevolence in no small measure, and we can only pray that the Almighty God will keep you for us, and for the good people of Ekiti”.

‎The Rector also commended the Chairman Governing Council of the institution, Dr. Femi Thomas for his commitment to the growth of the polytechnic.

‎While speaking, the  JAMB Coordinator in Ekiti State, Ishola Ganiyu-Babaita assured the students that JAMB recognized and regulated their admissions.

‎In separate interviews, some of the matriculated students including Gabriel Daniel, Daramola Kemisola and Falade Oluwafunke promised to be of good conduct and face their studies.

‎The matriculation ceremony is the first one to be celebrated after the school assumed the status of a polytechnic and the fifteenth in the series of matriculations since the establishment of the institution.

‎A total of 1,543 students admitted to run various courses at both Ordinary National Diploma and Higher National Diploma levels took the matriculation oath.
