SSA and GM Farm Settlement Tour Farm, Showcase Ekiti’s Agricultural Progress

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Farm Settlement and Agriculture, Temitope Adewole, led a high-profile delegation on a tour of the state’s farm settlements, highlighting the remarkable progress made in Ekiti’s agricultural sector. The tour is in preparation for the upcoming farming season this year.

The delegation visited Agbeyewa Farms, YSJ Farms, and other farms under the Farm Settlement.

Agbeyewa Farm Settlement has witnessed significant transformations under Governor Oyebanji Abayomi’s administration. The Governor’s initiatives of partnership with Agbeyewa have led to increased crop yields, improved livelihoods for farmers, and a surge in food production. Agbeyewa has become a model for best practices in agriculture, attracting visitors and investors. The community has witnessed significant economic growth, with improved roads, processing industries, healthcare, and education facilities.

YSJ Farms, a leading agricultural investor in Ekiti State, has partnered with the government to establish modern farm settlements, including dormitories, land clearing, and security, providing employment opportunities for hundreds of youths and contributing to the state’s food security. The farm has introduced cutting-edge technology and innovative farming practices, making Ekiti State a benchmark for agricultural development.

During the tour, SSA Temitope Adewole congratulated Agbeyewa on acquiring a modern cassava processing center, boosting Ekiti’s cassava production and economy.

Speaking during the tour, SSA Temitope Adewole commended Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to agriculture. “The Governor’s vision for agriculture is yielding results,” he said.

GM Farm Settlement, Osundun Kolade, highlighted plans to open up the agricultural settlement to investors and tourists, allocating more land to investors like YSJ and Agbeyewa.
