Insecurity taking too long than necessary…Prophet Eyebiokin Laments

…says Nigerian leaders are incapacitated

A well-known prophet in Ekiti State, Prophet Sunday Eyebiokin of the Christ City Evangelical Ministry, Ado-Ekiti has called for alternative means to end insecurity in Nigeria, saying successive governments have shown lack of capacity to address the situation.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday, the cleric said civilian authorities and politicians have failed to protect citizens, leaving Nigerians vulnerable to bandits, Boko Haram, and other armed forces.

He emphasized that prayer alone is not enough to combat the nation’s security challenges. “We have been praying, praying, praying, but politicians are not allowing the prayer to work,” he said.

The prophet argued that successive governments in the country have failed woefully in the fight against bandits.

He called on the military which he described as a disciplined organisation and authority to be more strategic in assisting Nigeria to fight the evil bandits.

According to him, insecurity has already impacted church activities. Many members now avoid weekly services, night vigils, and even Sunday worship due to fear. “Only those very strong in faith still come freely,” he said, noting that while his ministry is largely safe, the general atmosphere of fear is affecting attendance and participation.

When asked if united prayers by Nigerian pastors could resolve the crisis, he said it could work, but emphasized the lack of cooperation among church leaders. “Some pastors believe there is genocide; others do not. Our weapon of prayer and the Bible is stronger than AK-47s, but nobody is ready to surrender for collective fasting and prayer,” he explained. He suggested a three-day nationwide fasting and prayer session, supervised by soldiers, as a potential spiritual solution.

Eyebiokin, who has led Christ City Evangelical Ministry in Ado-Ekiti for 26 years, concluded that Nigeria is in urgent need of strong leadership and decisive action. He also commented on international involvement, saying that while help from figures like Donald Trump could assist, it may also impact many people, stressing that the solution ultimately lies in the hands of God and disciplined leadership.
