The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, has rolled out comprehensive security plans to ensure a peaceful and secure Yuletide season.
Speaking at the Command Headquarters along Ikere Road, Commandant Sosina Paul, PhD, fsi, assured Ekiti residents of a robust security presence throughout the festive period.
“We have deployed a multi-layered security strategy, with specialized units strategically positioned across the state,” Commandant Paul stated. “The Counter-Terrorism Unit, Agro-Ranger Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives Response Unit will work tirelessly to prevent and counter any threats to public safety.”
The Command has deployed over 700 personnel from specialized and tactical units to various locations across the state. Additionally, over 350 intelligence officers are strategically positioned at key locations and black spots to monitor and assess potential security threats.
Commandant Paul reiterated the state government’s ban on the use of fireworks and other outdoor explosives during the festive season. He warned that anyone found violating this directive will face the full weight of the law.
