Anuoluwatobi Foundation Donates Wheelchairs, Stationery, Others to Ekiti Special School

…organizes outreach for inclusive education in Ekiti

The Anuoluwatobi Foundation, a non-governmental-organisation, dedicated to improving the lives of the less-privileged, on Wednesday, donated five wheelchairs, stationery and toiletries, among other items to Ekiti State Government Special School for the Intellectual Disability and Physically Challenged, Ido-Ekiti.

The foundation equally donated items including; lawn mower, industrial gas cylinder, and industrial burner aimed at assisting the less-privileged and impacting the leaders of tomorrow positively.

The Convener and President of Anuoluwatobi Foundation, Mrs Ayo Ajewole, who spoke at the one-day outreach in the school premises, said the gesture is to boost government’s efforts on inclusive education in the State.

She charged the students to be inspired and uplifted by their token of love while reminding them that “no matter your personal challenges, you are capable of achieving more than you could ever dream.”

Ajewole explained that the desire to assist the less-privileged was borne out of the philanthropic gesture of her Late father, saying that he motivated his children to always extend care and love to the less privileged.

The Convener also called on Nigerians to always treat the physically challenged right by embracing them in all facets of the society.

In his opening remarks, the School Principal, Rasaki Salami commended the foundation for deeming it necessary to donate the items to the school adding that the kind gesture will bring succour to the less privileged.

While appreciating the State government for their giant strides to the development of the school, he seized the opportunity to call on well-meaning Nigerians to take a cue from the wonderful gesture of Anuoluwatobi Foundation.

According to him, “it is very much remarkable that the Anuoluwatobi Foundation has proved to the world that there is ability in disability, hope in hopeless by organizing this befitting donation for the students of this school.

“This is also a caring and loving foundation that brings succour, joy, smiles and happiness to the faces of less privileged as being demonstrated today.”

The Vice-Chancellor, Ekiti State University, EKSU, Prof. Joseph Ayodele motivated the students to believe in themselves towards achieving their full potentials while encouraging them that there is ability in disability.

On her part, Olori, HRH Ngozi Ilori-Faboro, Eyesorun of Ido Faboro Ekiti applauded the foundation for their kind gesture and humanitarian assistance to the school.

The Founder of GIGMOF, a subsidiary of Divine Motivation For Positive Impact Initiative,
Dr. Gbenga Emiloju equally thanked the foundation for the show of love while pledging to donate solar lights to the school through his NGO.

The event featured special performances by the students, where they displayed the alphabetical full meaning of ‘DISABILITY’ to include; Daring, Integrity, Sanity, Ability, Believe, Intelligent, Loyal, Innocent, Truthfulness and Yielding.

Other highlights includes; disbursement of materials from the foundation, performances by students of OAU, Ile-Ife, admonition for parents of Special Children and Special Students, among others.
