The Special Advisor to Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on Pension matters, Pius Owolabi has dissociated himself from a statement credited to NUP Leadership claiming that he Pius Owolabi has pledged his loyalty to NUP amidst the lingering crisis rocking the Union.
Owolabi in a statement in Ado Ekiti cautioned the NUP leadership against peddling lies to blackmail him.
According to Owolabi, the NUP Chairman, Mr . Adetola Popoola only shook his hand and had pictures with him during a sitting of the committee where he was just an observer.
He expressed displeasure that after the meeting, the NUP Chairman and his cohorts began to spread false information that he Owolabi has pledged loyalty to NUP and other unfounded lies.
The statement reads:”This is quite unfortunate. I hereby dissociate myself from a publication from one com. Bayo Olowokere who called himself the N UP Spokesperson that a committee was Set up by the state Government on NUP crisis.
“This information is false. The committee was Set up by Mr Agboola.He only informed the Head of service of his interest to settle crisis in NUP and the the head of service wished him good luck because of her love for peace in Ekiti state.
“The Advisor was advised to be there as an Observer. As at today, the committee is yet to complete it’s sittings. The NUP Chairman Mr Popoola only cleverly brought his south west visitors to the committee to address them on need to allow peace to reign in NUP in Ekiti state.
“Since the committee has not completed her sittings, how can a communique be issued when the opposing camp to NUP has not even been invited to hear their views by the committee.
The Advisor did not pledge loyalty as claimed because there was no reason or room for such action and speech.The NUP Chairman Mr Popoola Came to the high table to have hand shake with all members on the high table probably for allowing him to bring his visitors to address the Committee. As he came to me to shake hand, he asked one man to take the picture. I did not know that he had an ulterior motive for taking the picture.
“Please and please my loyalty is only to my employer and not to any group.Nobody can rule a group of Eminent people like Ekiti pensioners with lies.The writer should please take caution.
