The Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism (PGDJ) students of the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ), Ado-Ekiti Campus on Monday felicitated with the Institute’s Coordinator, Mr Dare Daniels on the occasion of his birthday.
The PGDJ students of the 2023/2024 academic session staged a surprise mini-birthday celebration at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Ekiti State Council in Ado Ekiti, which had in attendance a saxophonist and students of the PDGJ class.
The outgone President of the Students’ Representative Council of the Institute, Mr Rotimi Feyishna, appreciated the IIJ Coordinator for his immense contributions and impactful support on their educational program.
Feyishina said the Coordinator is a great man that is worthy of emulation adding that his contributions to the students of the institute can not be over emphasized.
He explained that his magnanimity prompted the Students’ to come up with the little birthday surprise for him.
He prayed to God to continue to uplift the coordinator and enrich him in knowledge to be able to pilot the affairs of the institute to the highest level.
Also present, Chairman of Ekiti State NUJ, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, lauded the coordinator for his great work in the institute.
He described him as an all rounder and a man that is more than capable to lead the highest office in the country.
In his remarks, the celebrant Mr Daniels appreciated the PGDJ students for the love shown to him saying that the surprise caught him unaware and he is grateful for their best wishes for him.
He appreciated the NUJ Chairman for his leadership in the union and for being a boss and a friend noting that his successful leadership would not have been easy without the support of the Union leader and Ekiti journalists.
The coordinator also expressed his profound gratitude for the 2023/2024 PGDJ Students’ of the institute for the surprise visit and prayed to God to grant them success in their careers.
Highlights of the celebration was the presentation of cash gift and picture frame to the celebrant.
