…… commissioner expected to perform kickoff for NUJ women’s football game
The Commissioner for Information in Ekiti State, High Chief Taiwo Olatubosun has assured journalists in the state of government’s continued support.
Olatubosun who spoke during NUJ monthly Congress held in Ado Ekiti acknowledged the role of the media towards the successes recorded by the Governor Biodun Oyebanji led administration, saying such sincere gestures would not be taken for granted.
The Commissioner who expressed delight over the progress made by NUJ under the Kayode Babatuyi led administration donated one thousand blocks which is approximately a million Naira to support the proposed guest house.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner will on the 12th of August, 2025, perform the official kick off of a novelty match for women journalists in the state.
The novelty football match which is between Team Olatubosun and Team Oyebode, the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor will be decided at the Ball and Ball stadium, Adehun Ado Ekiti.
Earlier, the Chairman, NUJ, Ekiti State Council, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi appreciated the commissioner and promised that journalists in the state would continue to operate professionally.
The meeting was attended by the Director General, Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship, former Chairman, Lion Rotimi Ojomoyela, former NAWOJ Chairperson, Alhaji Fatima Bello, Director Federal Information, Mrs Yemisi Omotola, Director State information, Tope Babalola just to mention but a few.
