The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Impact House (Youth Province 9) Iworoko, Ado Ekiti on Sunday donated free food items to Students of Ekiti State University.
The event which held at the Church premises had both members and non members, young and Old benefit from the gesture.
In an interview with newsmen, the Zonal Pastor, Enoch Olatunji disclosed that the initiative, which is aimed at reaching out to at least a thousand persons was spurred by the intense economic hardship in Nigeria.
Pastor Enoch Olatunji stated that the gesture is one of the ways the Church is gives back to the community.
The Clergy averred that hunger is a propelling factor to insecurity as people tend to go extra miles to satisfy hunger.
He further called on government to speed up measures to tackle the heightened economic downturn in the country.
Reacting to the kind gesture, some beneficiaries; Titilayo, Ayomide and Pelumi took turns to thank RCCG for their concern towards the plight of the citizens and for taking a bold step in assisting the people with food items. Ayomide also urged youths to remain steadfast in God.
