…as Senator Bamidele urges them not to sell it
Federal Government has distributed five thousand bags of 50kg fertilizers to farmers across the five local Governments in Ekiti Central.
Distributing the bags of fertilizers to the farmers in Ado Ekiti, President Bola Tinubu noted that the product was distributed to them to enhance food production and surplus in the country.
Represented by the Senator representing Ekiti Central at the National Assembly, Opeyemi Bamidele, the President explained that the present administration is committed to food production to reduce hunger in the country, promising the farmers to be expecting more of such.
President Tinubu said the bags of fertilizers were not distributed based on political party but for all farmers in the senatorial district.
According to him, the list of beneficiaries are being provided by the Ekiti State Ministry of Agriculture to enable the products get to the real farmers.
The President appealed to the beneficiaries not to sell the fertilizer, saying some evil people were using it to produce explosive devices to carry out their heinous act.
He noted that the construction of five mini Stadium in Ekiti Central are ongoing as well as ultra modern markets in the district.
Speaking on the recent allegation against him by some people, MOB who said there has been attempt by some enemies of progress to deliberately malign his character in the last few days, said they have been trying so much to make him look like a bad person, but said that he’s not so worried as he knows that justice would surely prevail.
“Some people have said I am against Yoruba interest, that I don’t want to support regional government. Let me say for the record, as of today, Monday 7th October, 2024, there’s no bill before the Senate to debate on regarding regionalism. So all the talk that I am opposed to regionalism is fake news and unfounded. We have not heard any paper to debate on.”
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture in the State, Engr. Olugbenga Odesanmi, who represented the State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji at the event, urged the beneficiaries to keep to the instructions issued by the Senator by making judicious use of the fertilizers and not to sell them.
