Bamisile Commends Ekiti Teachers Over Support for Oyebanji’s Education Policy

As the World Teachers’ Day is held today globally, a ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has lauded Ekiti teachers for their unique and outstanding backing for the policies being initiated by Governor Biodun Oyebanji to reset the education sector to the path of speedy progress.

Bamisile described teachers as the pride of Ekiti State for sustaining the legacies of scholarship and knowledge seeking adventure the state was widely respected for, urging them to make themselves perpetually committed to the growth of the sector to preserve the future of the state.

The former Ekiti Assembly Speaker, gave the commendation in a statement he released in Abuja, on Saturday, commemorating the 2024 World Teachers’ Day.

Applauding the teachers for their sacrifices and sense of industry to preserving Ekiti’s honour in education sector, Bamisile assured that Governor Oyebanji, as a scholar, will give proportionate reward to any teacher who display outstanding performance in the discharge of his duties.

He said the fact that the governor approved level 16 for graduate primary school teachers, approved car and housing loans for all their colleagues and pay salaries as and when due, confirmed that the current APC- led government is incurably teacher- centric.

“Let me congratulate Ekiti teachers on this year’s world Teachers’ day. We all know that teaching is a noble profession and all of us as critical stakeholders must partner them to build a better future for our state.

“Education is a leveler and weapon to banish poverty. It was in realisation of this that Governor Biodun Oyebanji was making remarkable investment in the sector through free education for accessibility for all citizens and payment of all emoluments that can inspire the school managers.

“As you celebrate this year’s event, let us bear in mind that education is the most thriving industry and most revered legacy of Ekiti people. It has earned us respect and honour globally and continentally. So, it must be cherished and preserved.

“Our teachers as drivers of the sector must be more committed. They must rededicate themselves and make requisite sacrifices to strengthen the sector. While doing these, they must bear in mind that they will be adequately rewarded.

“Era when Teachers’ rewards were in heaven was over. Now, they are being rewarded and celebrated while alive by APC-led government”, Bamisile stated.
