EKSG Partners NSCDC to Secure Public Schools

Ekiti State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye has expressed readiness of the state government to ensure adequate security in all public primary and secondary schools in the State.

She made this known while playing host to Nigeria Civil Defense Corps (female squared), Ekiti state command in her office in Ado Ekiti.

The commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Dr. Mrs Folakemi Olomojobi, charged the security agency and stakeholder to be alive to their responsibilities for the safety of live and property in public schools across the State. stress further security challenges can only be curb when all hands are on deck.

The commissioner said some school in Ado township are facing a lot of security challenges which she said with the advent of this team in collaboration with the initial measure been put in place, the security challenge will be lay to rest and the environment will be educational friendly for the pupil’s and teachers in the school. She however stressed that security challenges can only be curb when all hands are on deck.

In her remarks, Chairman Teaching Serive Commission, Hon. Mrs Fola Richie Aderanti encouraged stakeholders to work hand in hand to make the public schools violents free across the state so that educational environment can be peaceful enough to the well meaning Nigeria pupil’s and paren. The TESCOM boss also advised the NCDC Female Squared to work in collaboration with other security agencies as to achieve the set goal.

Earlier, the chairman Board for Technical and Vocational Education, Hon. Kayode Babade appreciated the Squared for this anticipated action which come at the needed time to save the souls of our future leaders and government properties at the same time, he explained further that the time has come for the state government to make use of the “child right act”.

Also speaking, Mr. Oluwadare Ajayi, Permanent Secretary State Uiversal Basic Education Board discribed the visit of the Squad as a round peg in a round hole. He also charged the security personnels to make some schools in Ado township which are facing great security challenges a case study. He explained that though security measure has been in place since the inception of insecurities across the nation but this will also compliment the initial effort of other security corps.

Responding, Commandant Olabisi Owoola said the Squad was ready to tackle any insecurity in the public schools in Ekiti State, and emphasized that they’ve put all measures in place to achieve their aim and objective. She spelled that training and retraining of teachers and students will be put in place so as to take cover immediately at any outbreak of insecurity around them.

Owoola said, surveillance are in place in all the public schools for immediate report on criminal acts or any form or outbreak of law.

She also explained that her team has also concluded plans to embark on security talks with PTA and also to educate the students on the needed security strategies that may save them in case of emergency.

Describing their appearance before the government stakeholder, Owoola said her team is fully on ground to make the security of the public schools in Ekiti state a reality.
