

In a significant move to enhance agricultural productivity and knowledge dissemination among farmers, the Ekiti State Government through the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project as distributed Agricultural Extension Manuals to key stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
The event held in Ado-Ekiti, brought together government officials, extension agents, and representatives of farmer groups across the state. The initiative is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen extension services and promote modern farming practices.
Speaking at the event, the Programme Manager of the Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), Mr. Bamidele Adegbola, emphasized the importance of equipping extension officers and farmers with the right tools and knowledge to drive innovation in the agricultural sector.
Mr. Adegbola stressed the these manuals are not just documents,they are strategic tools designed to empower our farmers with the latest techniques and practices that will improve yields, animal health, and overall productivity.

In his contribution, the State Project Coordinator L-PRES, Mr. Olayinka Adedipe, highlighted the role of the project in transforming the livestock sub-sector in Ekiti noting that the distribution of the manuals is one of several interventions targeted at capacity building for extension workers and farmers alike.
Mr. Adedipe added that this intervention will go a long way in bridging the knowledge gap between research institutions and farmers.
He said the L-PRES is committed to ensuring that the extension agents are well-equipped to disseminate accurate and timely information.
In her remarks, the Extension Officer L-PRES, Mrs.Olubunmi Ajayi described the manual distribution as a milestone achievement that will enhance grassroots engagement and improve adoption of best agricultural practices.
She reiterated the commitment of the extension services team to continuous training and collaboration with farmers to ensure the sustainability of agricultural development efforts in the state.
The event concluded with the formal distribution of the manuals to extension officers and representatives of farming communities. Stakeholders expressed appreciation to the state government and L-PRES for the initiative and pledged to utilize the materials effectively to boost food security and economic growth in Ekiti State.
