The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence and dedication among corps members serving in the state.
The Governor, represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board, Hon. Adedayo Gold Adesola, said this at the swearing-in ceremony of 3,002 corps members deployed to Ekiti State, assuring the corps members that those who undertake impactful, community-driven projects would be rewarded with automatic employment and cash incentives.
Hon. Adesola emphasized the government’s vision to harness the energy, innovation, and patriotism of young Nigerians by providing structured opportunities for growth, leadership, and civic engagement.
He described the NYSC scheme as a vital national institution that not only fosters unity but also nurtures future leaders who contribute to the state’s development.
In his remarks, the NYSC State Coordinator, Alhaji Riko Abdullahi Shuaibu, commended the Governor for his timely interventions, including the construction of modern sanitary facilities at the orientation camp and the reconstruction of the NYSC Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti.
While expressing gratitude to the guests in attendance, Alhaji Riko appealed to the state government to construct a befitting lecture hall and undertake a large-scale renovation of dilapidated structures within the camp.
He also lauded the corps members for their swift adaptation to the rigors of orientation and expressed confidence in their ability to complete the program successfully and contribute meaningfully to their host communities.
The administration of the NYSC Oath of Allegiance was conducted by Justice Olatawura, who represented the Chief Judge of Ekiti State.
The event was attended by stakeholders, traditional rulers, security officials, and NYSC personnel.
